ICNA Council for Social Justice and MSA GWU Celebrate the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day
To celebrate the 100th Anniversary of International Women’s Day, ICNA Council for Social Justice in cooperation with Muslim Students’ Association (MSA) of George Washington University will hold a panel discussion on “Women’s Rights in Islam” at George Washington University Marvin Center Amphitheatre (located on the 3rd floor), 800 21st St. NW, Washington, DC 20052 on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm. The Event will take place in accordance with GWU MSA’s Islam Awareness Week at the campus.
The discussion will be moderated by Zarina Shakir. Speakers include Aisha Al Adawiya, founder and Executive Director of Women in Islam and Merve Kavakci Islam, visiting professor at GWU and former member of Turkish Parliament. Refreshments will be served.
